Our Mission

To help 80% of people employ 20% of effort to eat 80% good, by the planet and themselves.

(75%/15% will also do)

To prove it's possible to build a profitable online business that respects customers privacy.

(or fail trying)

To show people that they can get a value from online service without sacrificing own rights.

(nice to have)

Environment and Food

Climate change is real. We know that you know, enough said.

What is less known is that food production is responsible for one-quarter of the world's greenhouse gas emissions1. Unfortunately, compared with the most significant pollutants, the transport and energy sectors, humanity doesn't have a great story of reducing the consequence of food production.

On the bright side, we know that food-driven emissions are highly concentrated in a small class of foods. Specifically, less meat is nearly always better than sustainable meat to reduce your carbon footprint2.

Another resource we shouldn't forget is freshwater. Once you become aware that to produce 1kg of beef, we need 15,450 litres of water, there is no unlearning3.

Food and You

You are what you eat. At FoodieApp, we believe in a balanced, science-driven approach to nutrition. The diversity of 5 Food Groups3 munched daily.

Firm no to extreme diets ("I never eat X", "I only eat Y"). More plants, less meat which negatively affects our health (e.g. Cancer4 or heart disease5).

Kurzgesagt has an excellent summary video on the subject:

Food and FoodieApp

Our goal is to help you change your behaviour patterns to increase the diversity of food types you eat and specifically reduce meat consumption. It's good for the planet, it's also good for you!

We won't help you quickly lose weight, there are better products for that. Instead, we will help you change your habits, which in turn will lead to you maintaining that perfect weight.

We're not asking all of us to become vegans to save ourselves or the biome.

Instead, we're trying to create a world where we all are more aware of the actual costs of meat production and treat it with respect it deserves.
